CALGARY, AB - FT Services recently received an "Occupational Health and Safety Award of the Year" from the Alberta Petro-Chemical Safety Council. The "Contractor Management Award" recognizes achievement for best contractor safety performance in 2009 amongst peer-group member companies with more than two million work hours, lost-time injury free.
"This award is a testament to the value and commitment to safety that is upheld throughout FT Services and of our proactive approach to safety," said Peter Massey, Acting President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer.
Recently, FT Services and its sub-contractors achieved a significant safety milestone by completing more than 13 million work hours without a lost-time injury (LTI) since the company began operations in 2007.
Massey stated, "While our LTI record is an outstanding achievement, as an organization we aim to continually improve. Credit goes to all employees, sub-contractors and our clients for helping us receive this award, and for embracing our most important core value to protect the health, safety and well-being of everyone associated with FT Services."
