Supporting United Way
FT Services ran its first United Way campaign in the fall of 2007 in Fort McMurray. Employees exceeded their goal by more than 20 per cent and FT Services matched donations dollar for dollar. In addition, employees participated in a number of United Way engagement activities, including a Day of Caring at the Centre of Hope - a day shelter for the homeless, unemployed, and underemployed. For this campaign, United Way of Fort McMurray presented us with the Outstanding First Time Employee Campaign Award.
In 2009, $40,000 was given to the Fort McMurray United Way, with $25,000 from employee contributions and $15,000 from the company. Employees actively support the campaign in many ways through barbeque donations and 50/50 draws.
